On gog.com, you can purchase both No Remorse and No Regret, for $5.99 each, which uses DOS BOX to run on a Windows XP/Vista/7 machine. The Crusader games are notorious for their difficulty to get running, but have no fear.

#Crusader no remorse review Pc
Heck, I own the sequel, No Regret, for my PC and I could NOT get it running on my old Windows 98. It needs to run in a MS DOS enviroment, and it's hard enough to get running on your own. You'll see.) The PC version has gorgeous graphics, but good luck with running that. (Colors are sort of washed out, just a muddy look to it.

Other versions: The Sega Saturn versions has FMV's, and while the textures look a bit better, the game itself almost looks "muddier". Give it time (a year, maybe two) and you'll certainly be coming back to play it again. Maybe you'll want to come back and replay a few memorable levels or show friends, but you won't be jumping the gun to replay the whole game three months later. The game will take you a good 20+ hours to complete, as the levels are massive, (The first level took me literally 70 minutes to beat, and not taking my time either.) there is plenty to explore, and lots of secrets. It's all alot of fun, and if you enjoy action/shooting games this will become one of your favorites. There's even a bit of platforming thrown in. Along the way, you'll have to find keycards, disable alarms, hack terminals, etc. There's the ever standard machine guns, shotguns, rocket and grenade launchers, (No pistols, you start the game guns-a-blazin' with a machine gun.)to energy weapons, such as the UV-9 Pulsar Ultraviolet Rifle, which shoots a ray of ultraviolet light at your adversary, turning them into a smoldering pile of ash. For example, you can find a terminal, hack a large security droid, and proceed to light the room up like the 4th of July. Kill everyone in the level and find awesome ways to do it. So, your missions will consist of shooting, shooting, and more shooting. Basically, the game is just you trying to bring the WEC down. If you like rock at all, you'll agree with me, it rocks. Seriously, if you're considering buying this game, go on YouTube right now and check out the soundtrack. Not only that, the sounds of the weapons, and enemies are classic too, as is the alarm and the ever so calm "Intruder Alert" voice.
#Crusader no remorse review series
This is coming from a guy who owns over 600 games, and the Crusader series has the most toe-tapping, head banging, awesome music that could ever be put on a video game disc. It has the BEST soundtrack I've ever heard in a video game. Sound: Usually I don't care to talk about the sound in my reviews, but Crusader is my #1 exception. But we'll get to the PC versions of Crusader later. The controls are MUCH easier on PC, and feel a bit stiff on PS1. If you stick with it, you'll have it down by the end of level 1. You WILL feel overwhelmed and frustrated with the controls at first, anyone who plays Crusader for the first time does. Every button on the controller has a vital function. He can roll, duck, sidestep, jump, crouch, run, etc in any direction. Basically, Silencer is probably one of the most controllable characters in video game history. Don't worry though, they're easy to get used to. Definitely better looking than the majority of Playstation games though.Ĭontrols: Crusader is partly known for it's mind bending controls. I'm making them sound worse than they really are though, you'll have no problem with them after the first 30 minutes.

The game looks beautiful on PC, but even uglier on Saturn. This means textures can be blurry, ugly, etc. Graphics: The graphics are very, uhm, PS1-ized. The PC and Sega Saturn versions have FMV's, while the Playstation version doesn't. If you like cheesy action stories, you'll certainly love this. While it's a bit cliche, it's still a fun story. Now, you go rogue, and join the Resistance, to bring the WEC down once and for all. The WEC betrays your squad of Silencers, killing all your pals, except you survived. (Think the Imperial Guard from Star Wars, heh even the Silencer looks like them too!)Every day civilians are massacred in the streets as the WEC searches for power. You are a Silencer, part of the WEC's elite guard. An evil corporation, the WEC (World Economic Consortium), is bent on world power. It's easily one of the best purchases I've ever made. After watching a review and a few minutes of gameplay, I was totally sold, and purchased the game. I remember that game with the "Red Boba Fett", and after 5 minutes, I found out it was Crusader. Fast forward to September 2011, and I'm looking for a new game to buy. I thought it looked pretty cool at the time, but didn't give much thought to it. A few years ago, I stumbled across this game on a gaming website.
